North Warren Counseling Center (NWCC) provides outpatient substance abuse treatment and mental health counseling for adults and adolescents. We strive to be a community resource center offering education, family support and referrals to other levels of care.
NWCC will continue to coordinate with local schools and agencies to provide services as community needs arise. Treatment is individualized to each client's therapeutic needs. NWCC provides a place where healing begins.
This program consists of 9 hours of weekly treatment.
An established and proven curriculum has been developed to provide clinical integrity. Active participation is required of both the adolescent and their parents. Family supports are encouraged to be a part of our adult programming, as well.
I am the parent of an Alina Lodge alumna and have served on the Board of Trustees since November of 2010. It is an honor for me to present this message from the Board as its' new president. As I assume this position and on behalf of the Board and the many friends of the Lodge and Haley House, I wish to thank our outgoing president, Rita Cohen and her husband, Joel, for their outstanding work and support which has spanned many years.
2015 has been a year of high achievement for the Lodge, most recently earning Joint Commission accreditation, and managing our expenses despite the drop in student population due to a lot of competition in the industry. Since 1957, we have maintained an uncompromised approach to the core principles of our treatment program involving an abiding commitment to the 12 step philosophy of recovery and a lasting belief in the healing power of the "tincture of time.". In short, this steadfast approach has made us the envy of many recovery programs.
Quite candidly, we are currently operating in an extremely difficult and competitive environment. Times are indeed challenging. Several large public companies have recently expanded their efforts in an attempt to obtain a larger piece of the recovery market. We have been able to keep our program constant and finances under control because of the generous giving of the Alina Lodge/Haley House family. The financial support we have received has made a huge difference in allowing us to continue our philosophy of long term treatment.
The Board of Trustees has made a commitment to continue in this manner. We are looking forward to continuing with our Capital Campaign to create improvements to our campus and as always, we hope that our friends and family will continue to help us with our scholarship and general funds. As a not-for-profit organization, gifts to The Little Hill Foundation for the benefit of Alina Lodge and Haley House are tax deductible. Regardless of the amount, your gifts will help us to achieve our goal which is to give our students a chance for a life of sobriety.
Finally, special thanks go out to Michael Hornstein, our Executive Director and the dedicated faculty and staffs of Alina Lodge and Haley House for all they do every day to create one recovery miracle after another.
